| Job description: | Internet retail company is looking for contract/ freelance designers to work on the visual presentation of the website and all its visual marketing communications. The ideal person will be self motivated, happy to work from home with weekly meetings in our office. The visual design work includes designing landing pages for the website, art working/ photoshopping of product images and adding them to our systems, designing our emails, and working on the brand identity to further develop it and to keep to tight brand guidelines. |
| Duties & Responsibilities: | Working under the guidance of the Art Director. Working under direction from the Head of E commerce, Buying, Warehouse and all marketing freelancers to produce all onsite messaging. All onsite messaging needs to be tested using A/B testing (under the direction of the Head of E Commerce) and needs to be designed to maximise the possible click through to purchase. Design homepages which are updated twice weekly, once with a main concept and secondly with an update or refresh of message. Design promotional and landing pages for marketing proposes. Prepare product images and video for each product, this involves the downloading of images from the photographer, cropping them to three sizes and uploading the web ready optimised images to the product using the back end cms. All product images should have perfect white backgrounds and appear in a uniform manner as per the other products on the product list page. Prepare the artwork for the email campaigns that are sent weekly and hand the artwork to the email developer in a format specified by them. To have the ability to translate any design layout into HTML for uploading to the front end cms system. Uploading images for any design layout to the front end cms system and link through all the images and text as required. Prepare the layouts needed for mail order catalogues. |
| Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required: | to have excellent knowledge and use of: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Intermediate knowledge and experience of HTML You have to be an independent worker, capable working to deadline and must have an eye for detail and the ability to self check your work. We have our own content management system for our website, which takes a day or two understand, but your role does involve using this content management system. |
